The following videos introduce the biomaterials industry and cutting-edge science to middle and high school level students. They are open-source and bring some of the current science and engineering challenges to secondary classrooms. This project was focused in New Hampshire where research and industry partnerships are assisting the industry to grow!
Career Awareness Presentations for Middle & High School Students
The education workforce development grant for secondary students was awarded to Co-Principal Investigators Devin Helmke (Sanborn Regional School District) and Barbara A. Hopkins (BAHopkins Consulting) through the NH EPSCoR NH BioMade award provided by the National Science Foundation's Research Infrastructure Improvement Award # 1757371. For more information or access to the resources developed or additional mentoring opportunities please explore this site or contact Barbara Hopkins (BAHopkins.Education@gmail.com). Video resources were supported by the NH BioMade project and the ARMI BioFab USA EWD project. The video clips used are extracted from additional ARMI/BioFab USA videos with stories about the scientists and engineers and the NGSS Science and Engineering practices they employ. Please see the ARMI/BioFab USA videos here. Additional contributions were made by the students participating in the NH BioMade EWD project, companies, and institutions of higher education associated with the ARMI/BioFab project.
