Nguyen Van Tran

Wellcome to my homepage !

I am Nguyen Van Tran (hereafter referred to as V.N.), a Lecturer in Economics at Victoria University (since 2025). I hold a PhD in Economics from the Department of Economics at Monash University and a Master of Development Economics from The University of Queensland, and I previously worked in the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics at Griffith University. My research aims to use data to develop the evidence base for policies with improve the life and understand the behaviour of people. I am also passionate about teaching and training the next generation. I have received multiple awards recognising excellence in both teaching and research, and author of various journal articles and book chapters.

My research interests span over several applied economics topics, especially in applied energy, environment and resource economics,  development economics, international economics, and family economics.
