Prof. Nitya Nand Gosvami
Associate Professor
Dr. Nitya Nand Gosvami completed his B. Tech. with Honours, in Metallurgical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology - Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU), in India in 2003 and completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at National University of Singapore in 2008. He joined Leibniz Institute for New Materials in Germany as a Postdoctoral Scientist in March 2008 and was later awarded Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship. During March-May, 2008, he was a visiting scientist at Department of Physics at McGill University in Canada. In October 2010, he joined University College London in United Kingdom as Research Associate and worked in collaboration with London Center for Nanotechnology. In September 2012, he moved to Mechanical Engineering Department at University of Pennsylvania in the United States where he worked as a Research Project Manager. He joined Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (IIT-D) in 2016 where he is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Dr. Gosvami's research is focused upon study of mechanical and tribological behavior of materials at nanoscale where his group is investigating fundamental mechanisms of friction, wear, lubrication, and tribochemical processes in sliding contact at the liquid-solid interfaces.
