Giang Nghiem
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher and Lecturer at Leibniz University Hannover. For the current summer semester of 2024, from April to September, I work at the University of Konstanz as a Visiting Professor of International Macroeconomics.
In my research, I use household survey data to explore macroeconomics and household finance questions. I currently focus on designing randomized controlled trials (RCT) in household survey experiments to evaluate the causal effect of central bank communication and economic literacy on the formation of consumers' inflation expectations and their economic decision-making.
I hold an M.A. in Policy Economics from Williams College in the U.S., an M.Sc. in Quantitative Economics, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Goethe University Frankfurt in Germany. Before embarking on my Ph.D., I was an Economist at the Monetary Policy Department at the State Bank of Vietnam from 2007 to 2015.
