The whole concept for this story was again, only ever possible after having been a part of the NGC Discord for quite a long time (and having officially started on February 14th, 2020). I got inspired by a few people who were making their own fanstories based on NGC. This story is similar to Replay in that it follows the theme of a concept (in Replay's case, it’s the 7 deadly sins). I'm not going to tell you what this story's theme is (figure it out!), but like both the canon stories and fanstories, it ties into the protagonist in a few ways. And in case you're wondering, yes, I do make the screenshots myself.
My goals with this story are:
To (loosely) adhere to how the original GMOM game was, in terms of color palette and overall visuals⸺an example of this will be to have the traditional GMOM sky background for outside levels, and backgrounds seen in the canon stories and fanstories for indoor levels.
To try and properly present this as an alternate-timeline sequel, I plan to have this story somewhat tie into the main canon as a possible scenario, in the case another "sequel to Replay" fanstory comes out. The reason is that in this story I'm going under the assumption that the Transcendence Project is real and not made up by Warlock. It also means that some aspects in both NGC and Replay will make their way over to the story, primarily how the game is a reflection of the protagonist.
And lastly, while the main purpose of this story is for you guys to enjoy it⸺even if it might not end up being that good visually or conceptually⸺it's also a highlight of my conflicting thoughts of our world today. I aim for there to be a deeper, personal conflict in comparison to typical fanstories. I won't spoil exactly what to expect, but if the bad that humanity has brought unto itself and their world seems to outweigh the good, is there still hope for peace and unity to truly be established?
I'll also make sure to give special credits to anyone who's contributed to this story overall or to specific chapters. There will be a total of 5 chapters, and an epilogue (uncertain if I want there to be a separate finale chapter). And I may try my hand at making narrations for this story once I either progress to 4 chapters in, finish the story, or when I'm feeling up to it. And when that happens, I'll be sure to link those videos in a separate tab. I hope you enjoy what I have to offer! - PrincevonTwix
P.S., expect irregular updates, as I'll likely be dealing with schoolwork most of the time, unless it is summer vacation or any school break where I'll likely have more time to work on this. If you notice some changes in the story's text, I write it down in Google Docs first, and I transfer any revisions/chapters to the site. These revisions will mostly be grammatical/sentence phrasing fixes to keep the story consistent. Typically, when a chapter is finished and published here, it's been finalized. While the Docs will have things subject to change for WIP chapters. So unless otherwise stated within the story the reason for the text being different, those changes are done by me.
