Niklas Garnadt

I am Secretary General at the German Council of Economic Experts where I previously worked as deputy secretary general (2021-2022) and economist for macroeconomics and productivity (2019-2021).   In my research I concentrate on macroeconomic aspects of entrepreneurship and firm dynamics as well as climate policy. In addition I work on policy issues related to productivity such as industrial policy, supply chains, international trade and digitalization.

I obtained my PhD in economics at the Graduate School for Economics and Social Sciences and the Department of Economics of the University of Mannheim under the supervision of Klaus Adam and Konrad Stahl.
