Nafiz is a Lecturer in Accounting at the School of Accountancy, Finance and Economics at Massey University. He holds a PhD in Accounting from the Auckland University of Technology and an MSc in Finance with Distinction from the University of Strathclyde. He coordinates and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in data analytics, integrative accounting, and advanced financial accounting and reporting, including CA-aligned programmes. His teaching focuses on data analytics for accounting, financial reporting, and applied decision-making using tools such as Python, R, and Power BI. His research interests include financial disclosure, big data and capital markets. His work is published in journals such as Accounting Horizons, the Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, and the Australian Accounting Review.
