Next Gen Kenpo

Hello! I am Sheadon Jerman! I am the founder of Next Gen Kenpo. I am a second degree Black Belt in American Kenpo. I earned my Black Belt in October of 2018 and my second degree in 2022 after a brief break due to Covid-19. I was inspired to start Next Gen Kenpo when some of my students spoke to me about having to stop learning karate due to moving away. I thought it was unfair that, due to circumstance, they could not continue to do what they loved, so I made it a goal of mine to have that never occur again by offering online courses to those who are unable to attend in person. Not only that, but I wanted to expand my Kenpo knowledge into the world, allowing people anywhere to study Kenpo with our resources.

 I currently study and teach at East Taunton Kenpo Karate, where I have been attending classes for 13 years and teaching for 10 years. I am the second black belt in my immediate family, succeeding my older sister and earning my black belt the same day as my father. I am also studying Arnis which has been passed down in my family since my great-great grandfather.

I studied under, and was promoted by, Associate Master Mike O'Handley and Professor Jeffrey Besse. I have also briefly studied under Sifu Brian Hall, Associate Master Jamie Seabrook, Master Lee Wedlake Jr. and Grandmaster Al Cunningham.

I have additional experience with competing and officiating tournaments, as well as training students for tournaments in weapons kata, open-hand kata and sparring.

I'm currently a student at Bridgewater State University majoring in Communications with a focus in Film & Video Production.
