Using a 3-dimensional digital object to create a physical object with many plastic layers.
The 3D printing process begins with CAD or finding and downloading the product that you want to print using websites like Thingiverse. If you would like to learn more about the CAD process, click the button above to follow tutorials.Â
After the object is designed, slicing involves dividing the 3D model into many different layers. For the Flashforge 3D printer, there is a tutorial on how to navigate the software, which can be found on the "3D Printer Setup" page of this website.
Once the file is sliced, it is able to be printed if the printer is connected to Wifi; other methods of transport include SD cards.
The final product is many different plastic layers of cross-sections stacked on top of each other.
