Meet the Team
I am the Campus Computer Technician at IDEA Public Schools, where I support teachers, administrators, and students in using technology effectively. I’m passionate about promoting tech equity, advancing AI in education, and helping educators integrate digital tools to enhance learning and accessibility across the campus. This commitment to meaningful, future‑focused technology work is one of the reasons I chose to pursue my Master’s in Educational Technology at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
My name is Thompson Iyoha, and I am excited to join this community and meet you all. Based in Houston, Texas, I am currently enrolled in the ME Educational Technology program. On the home front, I am married and have three children: a son, my wife’s youngest brother, whom we adopted at age 11, and two daughters, ages 4 and 7. Professionally, I am a SAFe Practice Consultant specializing in Scrum and Agile methodologies. My background is rooted in IT infrastructure and Microsoft Azure.
My name is Esmeralda Pineda, and I am a Health Educator currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Technology at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. My interests include instructional design, online learning, and community education. I enjoy collaborating with others to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
I am the Extension Assistant at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service–EFNEP. I have over 10 years of combined experience in data entry, mid-level supervisory role, and as a nutrition and physical activity educator. My professional background focuses on community education, program support, and improving family wellness outcomes. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Technology at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
I was a teacher and Bank IT staff back in Africa, here in USA I'm a Radiologic Technologist. Technology and Education is always my passion areas that I would love to be engaged in. I do participate in several Education related community projects that help African students. These backgrounds encourage me to pursue my Master's degree in Educational Technology at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
