    • Craft a vivid depiction of the impacts and effects of environmental crises

Choose at least 1 of these 4 major environmental issues to depict in your artwork/writing:

Global Climate Change

  • Over the past century, the global climate has changed drastically with temperatures reaching heights never before recorded historically. With the shrinking of ice sheets, rising sea levels, acidification of the ocean, and increasing frequency of natural disasters, our rapidly changing climate has become a major concern for safety around the world.

Pollution

  • Pollution can come in various forms and devastate organisms all over the world through the introduction of harmful materials in the environment. Whether taking the form of plastics and trash in the ocean, air pollution involving greenhouse gas emissions, or land pollution of unsafely dumping toxic materials into the ground, we can all agree that pollution is shaping into a detrimental challenge regarding waste products.

Deforestation & Wildfires

  • Deforestation is the overlying trend in the loss of forested areas all over the world. Covering around 30% of the entire planet’s land, forested areas are quickly disappearing. In fact, over the past three decades, the world has lost over 1.3 million square kilometers of forest. These forests are essential to our survival as well as wildlife due to a number of reasons.

Wildlife Conservation

  • Throughout the past century over one million unique species have become endangered. More than ever before, wildlife species are dying out. Many of the reasons why wildlife populations have been degrading over time are due to human-related issues surrounding climate change and environmental destruction.
