NexHawk Privacy Policy

NexHawk ("we", "our", or "us") operates the NexHawk mobile application (the "App"), an advanced aviation navigation and flight operations platform designed for pilots. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By using NexHawk you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile photo, and a unique Google account identifier. We use this to create and maintain your NexHawk profile.

Location data. NexHawk is a navigation application and requires access to your device's GPS (precise location) and network-based (approximate) location at all times while the App is in use. Location is used to:

• Display your position on aviation charts and moving maps

• Identify nearby airports, waypoints, and airspace

• Generate flight plans and route advisories

• Power real-time instrument displays (Glass Cockpit, SkyScan)

We do not sell or share your precise location with advertisers. Location data is processed on-device and transmitted to our servers only to the extent required for the features above.

Audio. If you use voice features (Co-Pilot AI), the App requests access to your device microphone. Audio is processed to recognize your spoken commands and is not stored on our servers beyond the duration of each session.

Sensor data. The App reads high-sampling-rate device sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope) to power Glass Cockpit attitude and instrument displays and to support the Flight Simulator Bridge. Raw sensor data is processed locally on-device and is not transmitted.

Messages. Wingman, our pilot-to-pilot messaging feature, stores message content, sender/recipient identifiers, timestamps, and read/delivery status in our cloud database (Firebase Firestore). Messages are automatically deleted after 90 days.

Subscription and purchase data. When you purchase a subscription or add-on through the App, we store your active tier, expiry dates, and purchase status. Payment processing is handled by Google Play Billing; we do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Push notification tokens. To deliver push notifications (Wingman messages, weather alerts, flight advisories), the App registers a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token, which is stored in your account record.

Usage and analytics data. We may collect non-personally-identifiable information about how you use the App (features accessed, session duration, crash reports) to improve performance and reliability. This data does not include your location history or message content.

Device information. We may collect your device model, operating system version, and app version for diagnostic and compatibility purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, operate, and improve the NexHawk App and its features

• Authenticate your account and manage your subscription

• Deliver real-time aviation navigation, weather, and airspace information

• Enable pilot-to-pilot messaging via Wingman

• Send push notifications you have opted into (messages, alerts)

• Respond to support requests and inquiries

• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not use your information to serve third-party advertisements.

3. Information We Share

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

Service providers. We use trusted third-party services to operate the App:

• Google Firebase — authentication, cloud database (Firestore), file storage, cloud messaging (FCM), and AI features (Gemini via Firebase AI Logic). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

• FAA and NOAA — we retrieve publicly available aviation data (METARs, TAFs, NOTAMs, approach plates) from U.S. federal agency APIs. Queries may include your general region to return relevant results.

• OpenStreetMap / osmdroid — map tile data used for the moving map display. Tile requests may include approximate geographic coordinates.

• Google Play Billing — payment processing for subscriptions and in-app purchases. Subject to Google's payment terms.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of NexHawk, our users, or the public.

Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your personal data is subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Wingman messages are automatically deleted after 90 days. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 8).

5. Children's Privacy

NexHawk is a professional aviation tool intended exclusively for pilots and individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), Firebase Security Rules to restrict database access to authenticated users, and regular security reviews. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

7. Your Choices and Rights

• Location: You can revoke location permission in your device settings at any time. Core navigation features will not function without location access.

• Microphone: You can revoke microphone permission in your device settings. Voice features will be disabled.

• Notifications: You can disable push notifications in your device settings or within the App.

• Account deletion: You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data by emailing us (see Section 8).

• Data access / portability: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you may also have rights to object to or restrict our processing of your data under applicable data protection laws. Contact us to exercise these rights.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of NexHawk after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
