From the Dannevirke News (sorry no date): "Dannevirke News readers were quick to react when we ran a photo in Thursday edition asking for information which has been donated to the Gallery of History. We were reliably informed by a reader that the Christmas Parade was organised by the Hearing Association and was done to celebrate the first year of the association in Dannevirke in 1952.
A number of readers put names to people in the photo so we have decided to repeat the photo with the people that are known named.
The woman at the extreme left is Toni Foster of the Hearing Association. In front of her sporting a beard is Richard Alexander. Standing just behind him is a woman with a child in her arms is Francis Benson and daughter Paddy.
Father Christmas is thought to be Ken Knight of Woodville.
In the centre rear of the photo is a pole with a parking 60minutes sign on it.
Immediately under this sign is a man with his son in his arms and we are told this is Reg Phillips, with is son Murray.
Three sisters are standing in front of Mr Phillips, the two taller girls are Robin and Marion and in front wearing a coat is Nagaire McIntosh. Beside her is Kerry O'Connell.
The gentleman standing behind the reindeer's head is Larry Hermansen and the boy facing the camera in the foreground is Bill Angland."
