Pathology Assistant Program in New York
The Pathology Assistant program at St. John’s University is designed to give students the opportunity to explore the exciting field of pathology and gain valuable hands-on experience in a clinical setting. St. John’s University’s Pathology Assistant program is one of only two programs in New York State that offers direct entry into the profession through an Associate degree and Diploma options, as well as a Bachelor’s degree.
The program provides students with hands-on experience working directly with physicians in our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, providing vital support to our teaching staff and assisting with patient care. Students are prepared for certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology upon successfully completing the program requirements and passing the ASCP examination. Graduates can choose from a number of career opportunities including positions in hospitals, physician offices and research centers.
