  • From Fred Carson our day tip chairperson: In the past several years one of our day tours was a boat ride on parts of the Bon Secour River, Bon Secour Bay, and part of the Inter Coastal Waterway. We had to have 40 paid customers to accomplish this trip. Some people at the meeting who had been on this tour before asked me if we were going to offer it again. This would depend on getting the necessary number of people. For those of you that have not done this before here is a brief description. The vessel is a 40 ft. pontoon type boat Coast Guard approved. The tour starts out near where County Rds. 4 and 6 meet. There is a very good exploration and narration of the area looking for Dolphins, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Heron, Pelicans, and more. Commentary includes points of interest on the history, geology, ecology, and characters of Coastal Alabama: the empire builders, and fishing industry. I am proposing this event to take place on March 1, at 1 pm. The cost would be $20. per person including sales tax. Directions and further instructions would come at a later date. If anyone is interested contact Fred Carson atfrc2564@gmail.com or call 251-955-5955 and we will see if we can get the necessary number of people.

One correction. Drop the 3 people because they can take any number of people first come first served. Thanks.
