How Do We Do It

To support our mission, we need funds that help our volunteers do the work.

Here’s where our money comes from:

Annual Fund Drive- This is our ONE school-wide, primary fundraiser from which 100% of donations are deposited directly into the PTO account. To reach our fundraising goal, we suggest for a one-time donation (through Infinite Campus) or minimal monthly donation (through PayPal) of $150 per family; although all gifts are welcome and very much appreciated! (Infinite Campus directions)

Corporate Matching (501(c)3 nonprofit) Please ask at work about requirements & email the PTO Treasurer with questions. (See additional information here.)

Shred-a-Thon & Electronics Recycling- Our second biggest fundraiser reaches out to our greater community. Every April, Arapahoe Credit Union hosts a recycling event in the Newton parking lot from which Newton PTO receives 100% of the donations. They supply the service and we supply the volunteers; together we serve our community. Donations for this event can also be given here. Come hungry because there’s also a food truck!

King Soopers Rewards- In only a few clicks, you can link your King Soopers/Kroger brands rewards number to Newton Middle school, and we can earn passive income every time you use your card when buying groceries or getting gas at a King Soopers locations. This adds up! Some LPS schools earn thousands each year from this program. Don’t forget to ask your neighbors and grandparents…anyone in the country who shops at a Kroger brand grocery store, to link up with Newton. And if you haven't already, it's time to switch your card from your elementary school to Newton. (See instructions & additional information here.)

Staff Appreciation Holiday Cheer Campaign- If your experience at Newton is encouraging you to help make the holiday season even more special for our teachers and staff, you will have an opportunity to spread that cheer through an additional holiday donation. These funds are used to share a generous gift with everyone who works in the building to make Newton great; teachers, office staff, custodians, kitchen staff, the mental health team and paraprofessionals. Read the Newton Middle School Weekly Update every Friday in November and December for more details or click here to read those already sent.

Restaurant Knights- About four times a year, participating restaurants generously offer a portion of their proceeds to our PTO. You get to take a break from cooking and enjoy a night out (or in!) at one of the great restaurants in our community and support PTO with no additional effort or expense. Watch for and read the Newton Middle School Weekly Update every Friday and follow Newton Middle School PTO on Facebook to get the details. (Don't forget to log your receipts if the restaurant is at SouthGlenn.)

Street Smarts at SouthGlenn- The Street Smarts rewards program gives back $350-$2500 to our PTO when shoppers log their receipts on-line in support of Newton. We get points for money spent. The more points, the bigger our reward! Between August 15 and April 30 shop, dine or watch a movie and log your receipts online 24/7. Tell your friends and family – anyone can support Newton in the Street Smarts program.

Your donation directly impacts your child’s educational experience.

*Newton PTO is a 501(c)3 organization, so your entire donation is tax-deductible.
