“Field” Research Amid a Pandemic
This pandemic has changed life across the globe. Conducting fieldwork has become difficult as research disruptions have come up with travel restrictions and frozen travel budgets.
Practically speaking, the uncertainties of the pandemic have at once created new challenges and made planning for those challenges far more difficult. Researchers must anticipate the unforeseeable and find ways to plan for contingencies. Contingency planning—multiple reservations to deal with the collapsing transportation networks, changing document requirements, and so forth—is critical to get everyone out of the field and to their preferred places of shelter.
This year a nearby locality has been selected keeping in mind the covid protocols. A survey was conducted by a few students at ward number 21 of Rjpur-Sonarpur Municipality on 10th November, 2020.
