寝屋川高校の皆さん、こんにちは！
こちらは、新港芸術高校のAyakaです。
残念ながら、コロナ禍の影響で今年の交流はキャンセルになってしまいました。この状況がいつ改善され、お互いの国を行き来することができるのはいつになるのかわからないので、こちらのサイトを使って皆さんに私達の近況をお知らせしたいと思います。今後何か特別なイベント等あったら、アップデートしていきたいと思います。
まず、みなさんが去年遊びに来てくれた私達の町、新港(Singang)と言う町に関して、
寝屋川高校の新入生のみなさんにも知ってほしいので、簡単に紹介したいと思います。私達の町は、残念ながら観光雑誌にはあまり載っていません。新港は台湾の嘉義（Chiayi）県にあり、有名な奉天神社があり、非常に台湾文化を色濃く反映している地域です。台湾でとても有名な奉天神社は、主に「媽祖」と言う神様を祀っている神社です。「媽祖」とは日本語で「海の女神さま」という意味です。奉天神社は色鮮やかな建築が特徴で、毎年色んなイベントが行われ、年に三百万人もの観光客が訪れるそうです。奉天神社の周りには色々なお店が連なり、新港の伝統的なお菓子や新港飴(あめ)や新港鴨肉羹(カモ肉のスープ)などが有名です。

Hello, our Friends in Neyagawa High School!
This is Ayaka, the student of National Singang Senior High School of Arts in Taiwan.
Unfortunately, our exchange program this year is cancelled because of COVID-19 pandemic. We don't know when this situation would get better and when we can visit each other's countries again. I decide to update the news in our school on this website. So, please visit the site when you have time.
Firstly, do you know the town where our school is located? We are in Shingang, a small lovely town in southern Taiwan.
I would like to introduce a little bit of our town to you. Rarely mentioned in the travel books, Singang is located in Chiayi county in Taiwan and has a famous temple called Feng Tian Temple. Because of Feng Tian Temple, the town is strongly connected with the religious culture in Taiwan. Feng Tian Temple is one of the most famous temples in Taiwan and enshrines a goddess called "Mazu." Mazu is the sea goddess in Chinese. The color of the ancient building is very bright, various events are held throughout the year, and around 3 million of tourists visit the temple annually. There are many shops and restaurants on the front street of Feng Tian Temple and many kinds of traditional food are sold there, such as the well-known sweet, Shingang candy, and the delicious Duck Meat Soup.

嘉義県は台湾の中南部に位置してます。
Chiayi County is located in the central southern area of Taiwan.

2020年11月5日、私達、新港芸術高校は奉天神社と一緒に芸術展覧会を開催し、台湾全国から多くの観光客が集まりました。展覧会では台湾全国初、学生たちがドローンと共にダンスショーを披露し、学生たちの描いた絵などが展示されるなど、非常に特別なイベントになりました。
On November 5th, 2020, an art exhibition was held in collaboration with Feng Tian Temple. Lots of tourists from all over Taiwan swarmed into the small town to participate in the special event. Not only were students' paintings exhibited, but a special show combined with the drones and dance was performed by students.

Our students performed a dance show with drones and it was the first attempt in Taiwan!

2020年12月4日、新港芸術高校の第15回運動会がありました。この運動会と同時に生徒会が「大食い選手権」を催し、大いに盛り上がりました。この大食い選手権が開催された背景は、コロナの影響で台湾国内の観光客の動きが減り、新港にもその影響があったので、地元のカモ肉スープの消費を助けようと、生徒会が企画して行われました。
On December 4th, 2020, we held the 15th Sports Festival in National Singang Senior High School of Arts. Along with this festival, our Student Council held a competitive eating challenge and everyone had a blast! The reason why Student Council organized such an event was simple but heartwarming. Due to the pandemic, there is a decrease of tourist arrivals everywhere in Taiwan, including Shingang. So, Student Council organized such an event to financially support the local restaurants of Duck Meat Soup.

2020年12月24日、生徒会が毎年恒例のクリスマスイベントを開きました。このイベントは、毎年寝屋川高校のみなさんと行っていたイベントですが、今年は校内だけで細々と行いました。来年は一緒にイベントが実現できることを願います。
The annual Christmas Party was held by Student Council on December 24th, 2020. Traditionally, this joyous event is held in collaboration with you, our Japanese friends from Neyagawa High School. However, in 2020, we had the Christmas Party only by ourselves. Hopefully, we can have the Christmas Party together in the near future!

台湾の水際対策はうまく行われていて、国内の新規感染者の数は抑えられていましたが、台湾北部での新規感染者の数が増えてきていることから、台湾政府は国内の警戒レベルを３に上げ、2021年5月18日から政府の要請を受け、私達の高校もオンライン授業が始まりました。
ステイホームで家から出られませんが、オンラインで友達と交流するしかありません。日本も台湾も、そして世界も早くこの状況が改善され、会いたい人に自由に会える日が来る事を願っています。
2021年5月31日
Although Taiwan's border control measures have been strict and effective, the number of the newly infected people in Taiwan started to increase in the beginning of May, especially in the northern part of Taiwan. Therefore, the government raised COVID-19 alert level to Level 3 and students started to take online classes at home. We could only stay home and talk with our classmates online. I sincerely hope that this situation in Japan, Taiwan and all over the world gets better soon and we can meet each other freely.
2021年9月1日から新学期が始まりました。国内のコロナ警戒レベルも２に下がり、普段通り学校へ行けるようになりました。
今日、大きなイベントがあったので皆さんにシェアしたいと思います。
今週は台湾全国で一斉に中学、高等学校においての集団接種がはじまりました。新港芸術学校でもコロナワクチンの集団接種があり、ほとんどの学生が今日第一回目の接種を終了しました。
2021年9月24日
We have started a new academic year on September 1st, 2021. Fortunately, the alert level was lowered to Level 2 and we are allowed to go to school now. Today, we had a big event at school and that's why I wanted to share this event with you.
This week in many of the middle and high schools in Taiwan the students have started to have vaccine at school. Most of the students in National Singang Senior High School of Arts completed the first doze of COVID-19 vaccine, BNT.
