The adjustment to college can be a difficult one for some students. Performance can be impacted by any number of factors including a difficult emotional adjustment to college, weak time management skills, and difficulties initiating projects.
At New River Academic Solutions, we have extensive experience in assisting college students who are encountering obstacles reaching their full potential. We understand the significance of academic issues on college enrollment and completion rates, and are ready with the tools and skills necessary to turn any student into a successful student.
Creating a daily routine that is committed to learning and the completion of academic tasks is an important factor in academic success. It is in that spirit that we require all participants in our academic probation remediation programs to commit to AT LEAST one hour of individual academic counseling per week. In order to facilitate attendance, weekly meetings can be accomplished in our office, or via teleconference. Every attempt will be made to accommodate schedule change requests, but no refund will be given for coaching sessions that are unused due to absence of the student.
We currently offer packages or 11 or 15 direct coaching hours to address students on academic probation. This package includes 1 hour of face-to-face time with the student per week, a one hour introductory screening, and one hour of interaction (face-to-face or teleconference) with parents/guardians/caregivers. Additional services are available if needed and requested.
