I am a researcher and evaluator with a diverse, interdisciplinary background spanning education, health, environment, international development, and equity-focused programming. As the Founder & Principal Consultant of NEWR Consulting, I specialize in qualitative and mixed-methods research, capacity-building, and translating data into actionable insights. I have led applied research and evaluation projects across academic, corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors, working both domestically and internationally.
At the core of my work is a commitment to equitable, transformative, and participatory approaches to research and evaluation that are responsive to community needs and centered on meaningful partnerships. I prioritizes collaboration, ensuring that the voices of diverse stakeholders are central to the evaluation or research process, and that all who are engaged in this work have expertise to bring to the table. My work is grounded in the belief that rigorous, community-informed research leads to more effective and sustainable outcomes.
Previously, I have held leadership roles in research and evaluation, most recently as Senior Evaluation Specialist at The Cloudburst Group and Assistant Director of Applied Research, Evaluation & Engagement at Duke University's Social Science Research Institute. I've led complex, multi-year projects, managed interdisciplinary teams, and worked on big-picture strategies to help organizations use research effectively. I'm also an educator, serving as Adjunct Faculty at Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment, where I teach graduate-level courses in environmental program evaluation and qualitative research methods.
I have over ten years of experience in training and facilitation; I have designed and led interactive workshops for universities, government agencies, and international organizations. These workshops have focused on building capacities in program evaluation, social science research methods, and data analysis software. I am a Certified Platinum NVivo Trainer and skilled in Dedoose, and love to help teams build their qualitative data analysis capabilities.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, doing Yoga with Adriene, eating well and cooking frequently, reading fiction, and spending time with my family--usually on a hike with the dog. I am proud to call Durham, North Carolina home.
