New Trends in Oxide Electronics workshop
Cargèse, France November 16-20 2026
The New Trends in Oxide Electronics (newOx) Workshop aims to bring together researchers working on functional oxides to discuss emerging directions in the field and identify key scientific challenges for the coming years.
Building on the vibrant international community that has developed around the International School of Oxide Electronics (ISOE), newOx seeks to foster scientific exchange, strengthen collaborations, and help shape the future of oxide electronics.
The workshop will gather 40–50 researchers in a residential format at the Institut d'Études Scientifiques de Cargèse, providing a unique environment for discussions, networking, and the development of new ideas.
More information regarding the scientific program and registration will be announced soon.
NewOx is designed as a forum for exploring future developments in oxide electronics. By bringing together researchers with diverse expertise, the workshop aims to stimulate discussions across traditional boundaries, identify promising research directions, and foster new collaborations within the community. Particular emphasis will be placed on emerging topics that are expected to shape the field in the coming years. The scientific program will cover a broad range of subjects, including:
Ferroelectricity and multiferroics
Magnetism and spintronics
Oxide interfaces and heterostructures
Correlated and quantum phenomena in oxides
Two-dimensional oxide systems
Neuromorphic and unconventional computing
Energy-related applications of oxides
Machine learning and data-driven materials discovery
The workshop will take place at the Institut d'Études Scientifiques de Cargèse (IESC), a renowned venue for international scientific meetings located on the west coast of Corsica, France.
Its residential format and exceptional setting provide an ideal environment for scientific discussions and community building.
