8:50am | Dulwich Park, London SE21 7EU | Route Details
For those of you who are local (and feeling brave), kick off the wedding celebrations with us at our nearest park run. We’ll be gathering at the Dulwich Park meeting point at 8:50am to sweat out any pre-wedding nerves.
Choose your fighter: sprint alongside the Groom (fast, competitive, headphones in), or enjoy a more leisurely jog/walk with the Bride (chatty, with a strong emphasis on 'leisurely’).
Not a runner? Excellent. We welcome enthusiastic cheerleaders, moral support, photographers and people holding coffees.
12:30pm | 65 Rosendale Rd, Norwood, London SE21 8EZ
The official “we do” bit will take place at our local pub, The Rosendale. Please arrive from 12:15-12:30pm for a 1pm ceremony upstairs. Afterwards, there’ll be drinks, canapés and general merriment as we properly christen our local. This bit will be in the Winter Garden, and while there are some mighty outdoor heaters, this is still London in November - so we recommend wrapping up warm!
At 2:30-3pm, we’ll be boarding the Wedding Bus, captained by none other than Sally Wilson, mother of the Bride and part-time navigator (full-time wildcard).
Important note: there is no actual bus. This is, in fact, a 15-minute walk to the reception venue. It’s mostly flat and straightforward… unless Sally has other plans. She may well be dressed as a giraffe - please don’t ask (or encourage her). Think enthusiastic child at a birthday party and you’ll be in the right ballpark.
We recommend sensible shoes, or at least a backup pair for the journey. If the walk might be tricky for you, just let us know.
4pm | 160 Hamilton Rd, Norwood, London SE27 9SF | Website
And finally… the party.
We’ll be heading to Gipsy Hill Taproom (our local brewery) to eat, drink and dance like no one’s watching (they absolutely will be). Food will be at around 4pm, so set yourself up for success with a solid breakfast (this is an endurance event).
Important mission: we’re hosting a pudding buffet and we need you. If you fancy showing off your baking skills, let us know on the RSVP. We’re aiming to feed 80 people, so whether you’re a star baker or more of a “bought it in M&S” type, all contributions are very welcome. The bride has one specific request: Banoffee pie. Please and thank you. Also, a small public service announcement - Josh hates cooked fruit, so let’s keep the raisins and baked apples to a minimum.
From around 6:30pm (tbc), we’ll have a live jazz band bringing the vibes. If you’re bringing little ones, we recommend headphones - the horn section has zero chill. There will also be a heroic pizza delivery at around 8:30pm for those who simply cannot go more than four hours without carbs.
Last orders are at 10:30pm, with the night wrapping up at 11pm. For those still standing, still dancing or stubbornly refusing to call it a night, we’ll likely drift back to The Rosendale for one final nightcap. Tills will, of course, be rounding things off with a decaf tea – bringing a calm and dignified end to proceedings.
If you are around on Sunday, it is likely we’ll park ourselves in our other local pub, Badger Badger, for the best chips in London. We’ll provide an update on this nearer the time.
