How to Apply

We encourage applications from advanced graduate students, early-career scholars, adjuncts, community college or regional university professors, and other underfunded faculty across the United States


Every participant will be provided with a $1,300 stipend (taxable as income) after the end of the program to help cover travel, lodging, and meals. Single rooms in Northeastern housing will be available at a discounted price. There is no registration fee.

 

Apply to NEWLAMP by emailing the following to NEWLAMP2024@gmail.com, by March 5, 2024 (11:59pm ET):

I.      A short statement of interest in NEWLAMP (2-page max); please include in your statement your reasons for wanting to participate in NEWLAMP 2024, the number of moral, social, and/or political philosophy courses you usually teach every year, the levels of those courses, and the standard class size of each;

II.   A curriculum vitae; and

IIIA Brief Teaching Portfolio including: at least two sample syllabi (preferably in moral, social, and/or political philosophy) and at least one sample class assignment.


Compile all the elements in a single PDF with your First Name_Last Name in the document title (e.g., Leanne_Simpson.pdf) and submit it with the email title “2024 Institute Submission.”

Notifications will be sent out April 5, 2024. Accepted applicants will have until April 19, 2024, to accept or decline the offer to participate in the Institute. Waitlisted applicants will then be contacted.
