I work successfully with children (ages 2-12), adolescents (13-18), adults, couples, and families. I have extensive experience working with clients who are struggling with sexual abuse, physical abuse, behavior problems, attention deficit, family conflict, foster care and adoption, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and stress management. I approach counseling with the utmost respect for individual differences, cultural backgrounds, religious beliefs, and social experiences. I utilize an integrative, individualized treatment approach, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and family systems theories.
My approach to treatment is to assist clients in identifying and developing personal treatment goals and plan treatment toward successful achievement of these goals. I strive to empower clients to make changes that will enhance their lives.
I obtained my B.A. from Emory University, and my M.A. and Psy.D. from Georgia School of Professional Psychology. I completed my internship at Vanderbilt's Child and Adolescent Psychiatry department and University Counseling Center. I completed my fellowship at the Child Abuse Research, Education, and Service Institute.
