Welcome!!
Q: Where do you meet?
A: We change the spots for our meetups regularly, but if there is a spot that works well for our group, we might meet there more than once. Each month we alternate between western MA/central MA/Connecticut and eastern MA/New Hampshire. Generally we focus on places near public transit and handicap accessible, and ideally places we don't need to pay to stay at. If there is a specific spot you'd like to recommend, feel free to message us!
Q: When's your next meetup? How often do you plan meetups?
A: We try to meet up about once a month, alternating between western New England (MA west of 495, and Connecticut) and eastern New England (MA east of 495, and New Hampshire). Check our Upcoming Meetups page to see when our next meetups will be.
Q: Do I have to have a Tamagotchi to join?
A: Nope! We are open to the Tamagotchi-curious. Some of our members prefer other digital pets as well, such as Digimon and Gigapets. We're open to all digital pets and those curious to learn more about them!
Q: How much does it cost to join?
A: Membership in the Tamagotchi Collectors of New England is completely free.
Q: Is the club LGBTQ/neurodivergent/introvert friendly?
A: We strive to be an open and affirming environment for all our members. Many of our members are one or more of the above!
Q: How old do I have to be to join? Is this club for kids or adults?
Nearly all of our members are nostalgic adults. Our club is open to all ages, however, we do ask that anyone under 18 who would like to attend a meetup does so with a responsible adult.
Q: What if I can't make it to a meetup?
A: That's OK! We have some people who mainly go to eastern MA/western MA meetups due to the drive, or who might not be able to make it for their own reason. We'll see you at the next meetup! And until then, we often do online asynchronous events such as group hatches in our Discord. See our Contact page for more information.
Q: What's a typical meetup like?
A: Meetups are generally on weekends in the afternoon, in a public place. Once we have reason to believe most/all people have arrived, we do introductions- normally name, pronouns, and some fun/lighthearted question, may or may not be Tamagotchi related. Much of the meetup is comprised of connecting Tamagotchis, chatting with other members, and varied activities like designing your own Tamagotchi shell or making friendship bracelets. Meetups typically last 2-3 hours.
Q: I'm only going to be in New England briefly, is there a Tamagotchi club near my hometown?
A: Probably! Check our Other Tamagotchi Clubs page to learn about other Tamagotchi clubs throughout the world.
Q: Are you affiliated with or funded by Bandai?
A: We are an independent Tamagotchi fan club. We don't have any sort of budget, and we don't receive funding from Bandai. All opinions expressed are our own and not reflective of Bandai. We are happy to say though that Bandai does have a positive relationship with the Tamagotchi clubs throughout the world.
