Our Pastor:

Reverend Corey D. Thomas is a passionate servant-leader and proud native of Houston, Texas. Born to Pastor Ronnie and Darlene Thomas, he was raised in the historic Independence Heights community and is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Prairie View A&M University and later obtained a Master of Theology from Grace School of Theology.

Answering the call to ministry in April 2008, Reverend Thomas stands in a rich legacy as a fourth-generation preacher in a family deeply rooted in Christian ministry. Since that time, he has become a respected and sought-after voice across Texas and the nation-known for his heartfelt preaching, insightful teaching, and unwavering commitment to proclaiming the Gospel to all generations.

His ministry extends beyond the pulpit. As a board-certified, licensed Christian counselor, Reverend Thomas provides Christ-centered guidance to individuals and families, helping them navigate life's challenges with wisdom, compassion, and faith.

He began his ministerial journey serving as youth pastor under the leadership of his father at Elion Zion Baptist Church. He later served as Senior Pastor of St. Holland Baptist Church in Navasota, Texas, where he led faithfully for four years. In 2021, Reverend Thomas was elected Senior Pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church in Angleton, Texas. Since then, the church has experienced remarkable spiritual, numerical, and financial growth under his leadership. His forward-thinking vision has also led to the launch of a new building project, signaling a bold and blessed new chapter for the congregation.

Reverend Thomas is actively involved in several community and ministry organizations, including the Prairie View A&M Alumni Association, the Houston Metropolitan Baptist Ministers Conference, the NAACP Houston Chapter, and the National Association of Christian Counselors.

Throughout every season of life and ministry, Reverend Corey D. Thomas remains anchored by integrity, guided by compassion, and driven by an unshakable devotion to God. He is the proud father of two beloved sons, Corey Il and Caleb, who are his greatest joy and constant inspiration.
