New York Events

In addition to our competitive youth teams, Pathfinder offers many opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.  These programs are open to the public and do not require that the player is a member of Pathfinder.  Players can remain in their current club or academy environment and take part in our summer camps, in-house training, supplemental training, international trips, college ID sessions, our residential college recruiting camp, and more.

What to expect: Campers will learn about the differences between universities and colleges  in the US (locations, athletic programs, costs, living conditions, career paths and more) . We will break down all the divisions, what they mean and all the variables  you should consider when choosing a school and  talking to coaches.

The American college system is unique, making a difference with European universities  because college sports in the USA is big business, with coaches usually having scholarship budgets in the hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.  Scholarships for athletes can range from minimal contributions, to a ‘full ride’ which includes full tuition cover, housing, meals and even money for books. The majority of student athletes offered a scholarship will be offered one somewhere in the middle.

These colleges are part of the NCAA, which is the government body overlooking all sports and is divided into a number of sectors and divisions, all representing different types of higher education. These are: NCAA, Div 1 and 2 (large public universities); NCAA Div 3 (usually small private colleges); NAIA (usually small private colleges); and NJCAA (community colleges).

During the camp we will teach you about these divisions, the best opportunities for you to play and get scholarships (beca), and what it will take for you to apply and be accepted academically.  You will have the opportunity to visit different types of college campuses and meet college coaches. All the while, you will train and take part in competitions to showcase yourself in front of college coaches.

Cost: $3500 per player (parents / families can join off campus through our family plan for $2000/pp room / board and NYC and local excursions included)
