The focus areas of the Institute include Early Identification, Remedial Correction, Rehabilitative Intervention, Special Education, Vocational Training and Placement for children with various Neuro- developmental Disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Slow Learner, etc
Special Education
Special education (known as special-needs education, aided education, exceptional education, alternative provision, exceptional student education, special ed., SDC, or SPED) is the practice of educating students in a way that accommodates their individual differences, disabilities, and special needs. This involves the individually planned and systematically monitored arrangement of teaching procedures, adapted equipment and materials, and accessible settings. These interventions are designed to help individuals with special needs achieve a higher level of personal self-sufficiency and success in school and in their community, which may not be available if the student were only given access to a typical classroom education.
Slow Learner
Learning disability, learning disorder, or learning difficulty is a condition in the brain that causes difficulties comprehending or processing information and can be caused by several different factors. Given the "difficulty learning in a typical manner", this does not exclude the ability to learn in a different manner. Therefore, some people can be more accurately described as having a "learning difference", thus avoiding any misconception of being disabled with a lack of ability to learn and possible negative stereotyping. In the term "learning disability" generally refers to an intellectual disability, while conditions such as dyslexia and dyspraxia are usually referred to as "learning difficulties".[6]
Parents Counseling
Parent counseling is a service that aims to provide you with knowledge, guidance, tools, and emotional support, all without judgment or bias. Different from family counseling which has its own set of benefits, parent counseling focuses on how you as the parent affect the dynamics of your family.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. It can also help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future.
Speech And Language Therapy
Speech and language therapy , support and care for children and adults who have difficulties with communication, or with eating, drinking and swallowing.
Behaviour Modification
Behavior modification is a type of behavior therapy. B. F. Skinner demonstrated that behavior could be shaped through reinforcement and/or punishment. Skinner noted that a reinforcer is a consequence that increases the likelihood of behavior to recur, while punishment is a consequence that decreases the chance.
Home Based Programme
If a student’s disability and medical condition means they're not able to attend school for a long period of time, the school can help the student continue to take part in their learning at home.
Until the student is ready to return to the classroom, the school can support them by:
providing an educational program to use at home
maintaining a relationship with them and their family
supporting their engagement with the school
planning and supporting their return to school.
