About the Speaker: Dr. Umid Rustamuly Alimukhamedov
Dr. Umid Rustamuly Alimukhamedov, MD, is a Neonatologist-Intensivist at the JSC Scientific Center of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology in Almaty, Kazakhstan, one of the country’s leading institutions for maternal and neonatal healthcare.
He is currently a PhD candidate, conducting in-depth research on minimally invasive respiratory stabilization technologies in preterm infants. His academic and clinical interests include:
Delivery room stabilization of preterm newborns
LISA/MIST (Less Invasive Surfactant Administration / Minimally Invasive Surfactant Therapy) techniques
Non-invasive ventilation strategies
Prevention of bronchopulmonary dysplasia
Evidence-based neonatal intensive care practices
Dr. Alimukhamedov is the author and co-author of multiple scientific publications and conference abstracts and is an active participant in international neonatal research and education programs. His dedication to advancing neonatal care has earned him awards and recognition at several international medical and scientific conferences.
Through his work, he continues to contribute to the global dialogue on improving neonatal outcomes, particularly in resource-diverse healthcare settings.
Biography: Umid Rustamuly Alimukhamedov is a PhD candidate at the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov. He is a neonatologist–intensivist at the National Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Perinatology in Almaty, Kazakhstan, one of the country’s leading tertiary perinatal centers. In his clinical practice, he is directly involved in the care of critically ill and extremely preterm newborns requiring advanced neonatal intensive care.
Dr. Alimukhamedov is a certified Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) trainer in the Republic of Kazakhstan and a lecturer at the Department of Neonatology of Kazakh National Medical University. He has more than 10 years of professional experience in the field of neonatology, combining clinical practice, academic activity, and medical education.
He is a winner and laureate of multiple international and national scientific and professional conferences, including the national award “Zhas Kenes Syylygy – 2025” in the “Altyn Jürek” nomination, recognizing his contribution to healthcare and neonatal medicine.
Currently, Dr. Alimukhamedov is conducting doctoral research focused on evaluating the effectiveness of a complex of minimally invasive technologies in stabilizing the respiratory status of preterm infants. His research interests include neonatology, perinatal medicine, respiratory therapy, evidence-based clinical practice, and strategies aimed at improving outcomes in vulnerable newborn populations.
Dr. Alimukhamedov has extensive experience in neonatal intensive care, with a particular focus on respiratory support for preterm infants. His professional interests include the application of minimally invasive respiratory technologies such as CPAP, non-invasive ventilation, and the stabilization of very low and extremely low birth weight infants in the delivery room and neonatal intensive care unit.
He actively participates in academic and educational activities, regularly presenting oral reports and posters at national and international conferences, symposia, and congresses. In addition to his clinical and research work, he is committed to mentoring young specialists and advancing modern neonatology in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
