Meet our Pastor

Pastor Corinthia Mack, who has been a wonderful addition to New Market for the past several years, leads our congregation so beautifully, diligently, and spiritually.  She resides in Hartsville with her husband and three daughters. 

A word from Pastor Mack:

John 1:6-9 (NIV),  “There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” When the religious leaders asked John to identify himself, in verse 23,  John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”

 He said he wasn’t even worthy to untie Jesus’ sandals!   The congregation of New Market United Methodist Church and I are evangelists, not even worthy to untie Jesus’ sandals, calling out in a wilderness that is often filled with despair, poverty, sickness, grief, and uncertainty. In this wilderness, we testify concerning the Light and call out, “Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” In this wilderness, we are crying out, “Hold on, don’t give up!  Jesus loves you! God has a plan!” We take our responsibilities as Disciples of Jesus Christ very seriously because we are determined to make more Disciples… AND TRANSFORM THE WORLD!
