Take the step by
Pastor John Motz
Ready or not, Fall has arrived! The days are getting shorter, the heat is beginning to subside, and the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back on the menu at Starbucks! Most of us are more than ready for the change, but what kind of change will it be? At the church, the Fall brings opportunities to take a new step in the way we grow, the way we serve, in the way we enable our lives to make an impact on the world.
So, it’s October, might I suggest taking that step? We have a church workday fast approaching (Oct. 17), and our facility needs a little TLC. We have our annual Trunk or Treat on Halloween, and the kids of our community need our love (and candy). We’ve got a special Men’s breakfast for all church guys, their boys and their guy friends coming on the 24th. Plus, week to week, we currently have a number of growing opportunities just getting started, study groups waiting to offer connection and growth as we move into the fall season. We have groups meeting in the morning, or afternoon, or evening, whatever fits your schedule (see inside for more specific groups/times/topics/locations). Groups for guys, groups for gals, and mixed groups, whatever feels best for you. And it’s not just the study(topic), it’s the sense of community (belonging) that is built when we grow together. Sunday mornings together are certainly important, but making room in our hearts during the week is an underrated next step.
You may have to overcome those internal voices that will argue; I’m too busy, or I’m not spiritual enough, or together enough, or good enough… but overcome them, and let’s take that step together!
