What kind of a country do we want to live in--and what are we willing to fight for?
Come to Indivisible Barrington's Town Hall and play a part in answering those questions. Over the summer, the Legislative & Candidates Committee researched and wrote policy outlines on a range of critical issues now facing the U.S. The topics include Defending Democracy, Civil Rights and Liberties, Economic Security and Affordability, Health Care, Immigration, Environment, Electoral Reform, Gun Control, and Education. We’ll use these policy positions to push for legislative reform, screen candidates for office, and direct our political actions.
At the Town Hall, we’ll present an overview of this work and encourage you to discuss, comment, and offer suggestions. Through this organic, grassroots effort, we can lay the groundwork for meaningful change and a better America.

Tired of disinformation? Indivisible has a national program called the Truth Brigade, which works to disrupt the spread of disinformation and misinformation - online and in our communities. Attend a meeting to learn about this approach that encourages critical thinking, reduces reactive sharing, and fosters long-term resilience against propaganda.

This month's Spark Discussion will center around the ideas presented in Sharon McMahon's book, The Small and the Mighty: Twelve Unsung Americans Who Changed the Course of History, from the Founding to the Civil Rights Movement.
This work considers and celebrates what it takes to be an agent of change. History is not only made by the heroes we know. The course of our country’s history is often changed by unknown but courageous, persistent, and diverse citizens who have the courage and drive to go beyond and achieve a just end. If you don’t have time to read the whole book, pick a story or two.
