NEUS-318 Demo Policy
At NEUS-318, we warmly welcome demo submissions.
The works released on our label fall within the category of so-called experimental music.
To better understand the aesthetics of our label, please refer to our past releases.
For example, works resembling classical film scores, singer-songwriter pieces, vocal-based rock bands, video game music, or anime songs should be submitted to other labels.
Demo Submission Contact
Please use the Contact function on the NEUS-318 Bandcamp page.
Demo Submission Format
Please upload your demo to a file-sharing service that allows streaming, such as SoundCloud, and send us the link.
If uploading to SoundCloud is not feasible, you may alternatively use a cloud service such as Google Drive.
Format Guidelines
NEUS-318 currently releases only 30-minute cassettes and 20-minute cassettes.
We do not release digital-only works.
For a 30-minute cassette release, the total length must fit within 15 minutes per side. For a 20-minute cassette release, the total length must fit within 10 minutes per side.
Artwork is unified in black and white without text. Please refer to our past releases for reference, as we aim for a degree of consistency in atmosphere. In any case, artwork will be discussed once a release is confirmed.
Cassettes are released in very limited editions of 23 copies, or in some cases 11–12 copies. There will be no reprints.
For editions of 23 copies, 8 copies will be sent to the artist. For editions of 11–12 copies, approximately 3 copies will be sent to the artist. These should be considered your compensation.
Response to Submissions
I make every effort to reply to emails and demo submissions, but since I operate this label alongside my primary job, I may not always be able to respond immediately. Please do not send follow-up messages if you do not receive an immediate reply.
If you receive no reply at all, please assume that your demo was not suitable for the label, or that there was another issue (for example, unclear or inappropriate email content, or not identifying yourself). Please note that in the past, some people have sent only a bare link to a demo without any message; unfortunately, in such cases, I do not listen to the work or reply.
Regarding Releases
Demos will first be reviewed, and then considered for release. As with other labels, please understand that submission does not guarantee release.
Timeline for Releases (If Accepted)
NEUS-318 is operated by myself alone. All work is handled in my spare time, alongside my professional commitments. As such, preparing a release may take considerable time. Please take this into account.
If you require a quick release, I kindly ask you to consider submitting to OMODARU or other labels.
About OMODARU (Sister Label of NEUS-318)
For works exceeding a total length of 30 minutes, please send your demo to OMODARU, a sister label of NEUS-318.
OMODARU is digital-only, which allows for quicker release schedules.
