- Tell high school students about yourself and your undergraduate/graduate experience! This includes:
- Your area of study (particularly if it is life sciences/neuroscience-related)
- What steps you took to get to where you are now
- Any tips you have for them as they embark on their college journey
General Science Activities Volunteers
- Assist and head small activities for the parents and siblings of competition participants!
- Example activities:
- Fun sensory tests
- Stroop Test
- 2-Point Discrimination
- and more!
- Maybe brain dissections (tentative)
- Grade the written portion of the exam
- You will be given the answers for all of the questions
- Some neuroscience background recommended, but not required
- If you do not understand a concept/know how to grade a question, there will be professors and grad students available to help
Registration & Check-in Manager(s)
- Man a laptop with a spreadsheet with all of the competitors' names to check them in
- People who want to help cover the event!
- Will need to take pictures and videos
- Filming/photography experience preferred but not required
- General volunteers who will help run the Brain Bee on the day of the competition
- Includes helping set up and clean up the event
