It contains common pathologies seen in the NeuroICU. Each pathology includes management pearls and an example patient.

Tips to shine during rounds:
A great way to get you started is to categorize your medications into your systems/problems. This will help create your #problems within your systems.
If your patient is on any continuous meds (infusions/drips), note the current rate (dose/mg/hr) in your presentation, not the volume (mL).
If your patient has ongoing tube feeds, note the current rate and goal from nutrition note. If they're not at goal, ask your nurse the reason.
If your patient has tubes/drains, note the output per hour and 24h.
If your patient has an EVD, note the setting of the EVD if it is open. If it's clamped then the setting doesn't matter because it's clamped to drainage. Example: "EVD open at 15 cm H2O" or "EVD clamped."
For PRNs, note what drug and how many doses overnight. Example: "labetalol x2 at midnight."
If the patient is getting a lot of narcotics, whether scheduled or PRN, consider reporting Morphine Milligram Equivalents. Total in 24h.
