It is not a programming question but I hope you can help me with this. I am editing a code in other PC network by accessing the network IP address. And what I did is I need to hit CTRL+O to prompt an explorer and to that I can directly go to the file I need to modify. Is there a way that the remote files will be visible to the explorer?

If you start Notepad++ as an admin, meaning a different user than your current logged in user, the mapping of the network drives may be different, and therefore N++ is unable to locate files because the drive simply doesn't exist for the admin user.

So either add the network drive to the admin user, or, better solution, uncheck "launch as administrator" in notepad++.exe's contextual menu (right click on notepadd++.exe in its installation folder, click "properties", select the "compatibility tab", and uncheck "launch as administrator").

Network Notepad is a freeware app for creating interactive network diagrams. Runs on Microsoft Windows 9x, NT, 2K, XP, Vista Point-and-Click Telnet/ Browse/ User-definable Network Management. Simple Drag and Drop interface. Open, Text Based File Format. Printing. Linked Diagrams. Flow Charts.

Network Notepad is an application that allows you to create network diagrams. I didn't know where all those fancy diagrams came from until I bumped into this application. It allows you to take all the devices in your home network and add them to a diagram. That is a simple understatement. When you start a diagram, you will see all the devices that the application can detect by itself. You can also add devices by hand. There are tons of different elements that you can use to unite each one of the devices. You can use curve lines, straight lines, put your computers in a little cloud and much more. Network Notepad also allows you to add IP address for all your computers and devices. I like that it has an option to automatically refresh all the IP addresses. It is common for devices to change their IP addresses unexpectedly, so that's a nice feature. Almost everything is done by dragging and dropping. The program supports Windows 9x, 2k, NT, XP and Vista, so you have many options to use the application. The newest version of this application is 4.6.4. However, this review deals with version 4.6.

I ran into this exact issue. After asking around and doing some experimentation it seems to be related to Notepad++'s "File Status Auto-Detection" routines. I noticed that the more files from network shares that I had open the slower the UI would be to respond when receiving focus. I resolved this by disabling "File Status Auto-Detection". Perhaps not an optimal solution for all environments. Now I just wish there were a one button or keyboard shortcut option to check to see if the file has been changed since it was opened.

Writing a commercial proposal, I want to create a nice graphic showing the clients the architecture I thought of for their IT network, with servers, network connections, firewall, load-balancing, etc.

For years I have been using dia, but I am tired of it because: the results are not satisfying, very few network elements are available, and each element's graphic representation is really ugly.

yED Graph Editor is a desktop application that can be used to quickly and effectively generate high-quality diagrams. It can also be used to generate network diagrams. Here is a sample diagram that was created using this software.

In my experience, there are a large number of traditional network diagram shapes such as the conceptual drawings for routers, switches, etc., as they are used on documentation (like what comes from Cisco)... and it looks just the same. Please let us know what you find is missing in Dia, so that someone can go ahead and create the shapes we may all find really useful :)

Though may seem like an odd choice, I find inkscape to be a great tool for diagramming, particularly network diagramming. Its output is svg, making it very portable and attractively rendered. And underneath, there is xml -- which you can manipulate programmatically (e.g., parse, search, edit, or even tie into other data sources for descriptions or other variable attributes). And it is Open Source.

But then someone mistakenly turned off the router 3 loopback interface

and the connection is gone.

This is a major step on the ladder to becoming an ethical hacker as, for the first time, you are dealing with Information Security itself! The average salary for someone in this role is $69,000. An information security analyst examines the system and network security, deals with security breaches, and works toward putting security measures in place. For this role, you should concentrate on penetration testing so as to get hands-on experience of some of the tools of the trade.

At this point in your career, you should be aiming at getting a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (the EC Council). The training you receive will take you through everything you need to know to become an efficient, ethical hacker. You will be completely immersed in a hands-on environment where you are taken through the process of hacking into a network and identifying any security problems that exist. Once you have gained this certification, you can start marketing yourself as a professional ethical hacker.

You do not want to overwhelm your interviewer/recruiter by popping out on every third notification on their screens. Take the day off. The next day roll out invites on professional networks, connect with them on social media later, after a day or two.

Cain & Abel is a tool that will be quite useful for network administrators, teachers, professional penetration testers, security consultants/professionals, forensic staff and security software vendors.

For small business owners and entrepreneurs, building a strong professional network is particularly critical. While some professionals might only network periodically (e.g., during a job search), business owners face an ongoing need to raise brand awareness, reach new audiences, and stay up-to-date with industry trends. 2351a5e196
