2. Short Version Network Monitor shows how much mobile and Wi-Fi data your device and its apps use - all on your device. It collects nothing about you. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no servers of ours. The app requests internet access for one reason only: so the optional per-app "block apps / Data Saver" feature (a local, on-device VPN firewall) can block the apps you choose. That firewall connects to no server and forwards nothing off your device. The only time the app itself contacts the internet is Google Play's billing, if you choose the optional one-time "Pro" purchase. Nothing about you or your usage ever leaves your phone.
3. What the App Accesses, and Why Network and data usage (on-device counters): the app reads Android's own data-usage counters to show your live upload/download speed and your daily and monthly totals. Read on-device, never uploaded. Usage access (optional): if you grant "usage access" in Android settings, the app can show a per-app data breakdown and history. This is read on your device only, never stored by us or uploaded. List of installed apps: used to show which apps you can view usage for or block. Read on-device only; the app does not request the broad "query all packages" permission. Notifications: used for the live status-bar data indicator and the meter notification you can enable. Background service: keeps the live meter/indicator running and, with your permission, restarts it after a reboot. It reads only your device's own byte counters and never accesses the network. Internet access and local VPN (optional firewall): only if you turn on "Block apps" or "Data Saver," the app runs a local VpnService on your device that drops the selected apps' traffic. It does not route your traffic through any external server, does not read or log the contents of your traffic, and sends nothing off your device. It stays dormant until you enable it. Vibration: a short buzz gives light feedback. Stays on-device. Local storage: saves your settings, your usage history, and your firewall rules. Stays on-device. Google Play Billing: if you buy the optional one-time "Pro" unlock, the purchase is processed by Google Play. We never receive or store your card number or payment details - only a signal of whether you own Pro. Google's handling of the payment is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). The app has no access to your camera, contacts, location, microphone, files, or messages, and does not request them.
4. Data We Do NOT Collect No account/login, so no name, email (other than a support email you choose to send us), or identity data. No location data of any kind (the app has no location permission). No camera, contacts, microphone, or file access. No device identifiers used for tracking (no advertising ID collection). No usage analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, or telemetry. No advertising SDKs. The app does not transmit your data-usage statistics, your list of apps, or any personal data over the network. Your data stays on your device.
5. Third Parties The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs, and no backend server of ours. The only external service is Google Play Billing, used solely to process the optional one-time "Pro" purchase; that transaction is handled by Google under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy), and we never receive your payment details. Network monitoring, per-app usage, and the local firewall all run entirely on your device. If this changes in future versions, this policy will be updated first and the change reflected in an updated "Last updated" date.
6. Children's Privacy The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, since it collects no personal data at all.
7. Your Rights (GDPR / general) Because no personal data is collected, stored, or processed by us, there is generally nothing on our end to access, correct, delete, or export. Your settings, usage history, and firewall rules live only in your device's local app storage and are removed automatically when you uninstall the app. If you email us at seleniumstudio.app@gmail.com, that email itself (address, content) is handled per standard Gmail data practices on our end - we don't add it to any separate database. Records of any "Pro" purchase are held by Google Play and can be managed through your Google account.
8. Data Retention We retain nothing, so there is nothing for us to retain. Your local settings, usage history, and firewall rules persist on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Purchase entitlement is recorded by Google Play, not by us.
9. Security Since no data is transmitted to or stored by us, there is no server-side breach surface tied to your use of this app. Standard Android app sandboxing protects your locally stored settings and history from other apps. The optional firewall is a local, on-device VPN only - it never sends your traffic to any external server.
10. Changes to This Policy We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above and, where required, additional notice in the app or store listing.
