the thing that prevents me from doing so is the Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter (code 10 message) which i had previously uninstalled because my wifi connection kept dropping in hopes the adapter would autonatically come back by the time i restarted it but it hasnt come back since I cant access any wifi networks on this device please help and thank you in advance

i just tried the driver but it didnt solve the problem i have, i cannot connect to any wifi signal it only shows the airplane mode button and i cant even click it also my "network controller" says it needs its drivers to be reinstalled (code 18) but when i try to do that it says "Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them." "Realtek RTL...WiFI adapter" "One of the installers for this device cannot preform the installation at this time." I've tried restarting multiple times with the new drivers but no luck so far.. thank you again for your pateience and taking the time out of your day to help me

It's funny how something that is apparently gone is causing this much, is there any way other than the device manager that I can find the Realtek RTL WiFi adapter? I uninstalled it but I think it's what's stopping me from adding new drivers..

@Vik's answer here is correct, but I'd like to add a little procedure for the cases where you can't connect the affected box to the Internet. Hello. I finished a pc build and installed windows 11. I used the bypass command in CMD to setup without internet since I didn't want to sign in to a Microsoft account and when I installed drivers from Gigabyte's website using a USB there was still no wifi connection. Checked device manager and the Network Controller driver is missing. I can't find it on gigabyte's website, and I did install the chipset drivers and have reinstalled it several times. Please help!

Checking the -en/drivers/selfservice/hp-elitebook-8460p-notebook-pc/5056942 drivers available for your HP Elitebook 8460p*, it seems the wireless adapter could be Intel, Broadcom* or Atheros*. Do you remember the adapter's model or brand?

I have used Everest to determine that my network adapter is a RealTek RTL8139/810x Fast Ethernet Adapter and installed the appropriate driver. But I can't see any Local Area Connection in my Network Connections.

at first page of installation click on no thanks(because you have no Internet Connection!) and Nextafter that click on Advanced and Nextand then click on Don't Search and Next and at next page chose Network Adapter from list. and Next then Chose the Manufacturer of your Network Adapter and the Network Adapter type.and Next. If you see a message box click yes and wait for your driver to install and finally you have your driver :)

There should be no driver differences between running on a macbook, a mac mini or a mac pro or even for running on a windows host running VMware Workstation (unless you're trying to run a macOS guest as that is prohibited on a windows host)

I have installed Jun's loader v1.02b DS3617xs using DSM 6.1. The box boots completely and is relatively stable. But I have encountered a problem with the NUC's embeded Realtek RTL8111/RTL8168 network adapter not playing well with the synology driver.

This is a known issue with many other builds and kernels. I have checked and can confirm that the driver that DSM natively loads is the same one that I have had a problem with after installing Ubuntu 16.04 Workstation on the same model Nuc box. 0000:03:00.0 Class 0200: Device 10ec:8168 (rev 15)

There is a fix, but it requires recompiling a file available from Realtek here. But that requires a copy of build-essential linux-headers to be on the NUC. There is also a problem where the drivers in DSM are not named conventionally so the Realtek make file will not find the correct files to replace.

So I think the only way to repair the problem might be to take a known working device driver from a similar Debian kernel, I already have one on different NUC Ubuntu 16.04 and transfer it to the DSM and rename it to the Synology convention. Don't know if this will work.

that's not going to work, its not like windows, the driver has to be compiled specific for the kernel and in our case its not just kernel 3.1.102, its a sysnology modified kernel of this version so it hast to be compiled against the source from synology

So the driver (kernel module) for RTL8168/8111E Nic GB controller is unstable? I currently am trying to help some friends build a Xpenology through the parts left over from a an old pc. There problem is the motherboard and the nic card. ASUS M5A78LM LX PLUS Its the RTL8111E and apparently some how it has two mac addresses for one nic. Any help would be appreciated.

It should find a RedHat network adapter driver, follow the prompts and you're in business.

Support for a network card does not mean that the system is real-time capable. Beckhoff ensures this for its own IPCs and EPCs through a variety of measures. However, this cannot be guaranteed for other devices that use the same network controller.

Launch the instance using a supported version of the Linux kernel and asupported distribution, so that ENA enhanced networking is enabled for yourinstance automatically. For more information, see ENA Linux Kernel Driver Release Notes.
