Networks are central to understanding how science grows, evolves, and connects. Our thematic session Networks in Science of Science explores the structure and dynamics of the scientific ecosystem—how ideas spread, collaborations form, knowledge accumulates, and policy shapes innovation. Drawing on rich digital traces from publications, patents, grants, and institutional relationships, this event highlights network science as a powerful lens for quantifying and advancing scientific progress.
This edition focuses on Science and Mobility, examining how the movement of people, ideas, and resources influences research productivity, interdisciplinarity, and global scientific capacity. We look at collaboration networks, citation networks, knowledge graphs, and new modelling approaches—including graph embeddings, link prediction, hypergraphs, and multilayer networks.
Building on previous successful NetSci events, this series continues to expand the Science of Science community through ongoing exchange, methodological innovation, and critical reflection on the future of scientific discovery.
This year we have exciting three invited talks that will be followed by volunteer lunch breaks!
