TapOffline is a parental control app for Android. It lets a parent or guardian pause internet access on a phone or tablet, on both WiFi and mobile data. NetNap works entirely on the device. It has no accounts, no servers, no ads, and no analytics. We do not collect, store, or share your personal information or your child's information.
NetNap is made for parents and guardians aged 18 or older. A parent installs and sets up NetNap on a device that their child uses. NetNap is not directed to children, and it never asks a child to create an account or enter personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
NetNap saves the following only on the device where it is installed:
Your parent PIN, saved as a salted hash and never as plain text
Your recovery code, saved as a hash
Your settings, such as blocking schedules, whether blocking is on or off, and the list of apps you choose to always allow
This information never leaves the device. We cannot see it. It is deleted when you uninstall NetNap or clear its storage in Android settings.
Your name, email address, phone number, or any account details
Your location
Browsing history, DNS requests, or the content of network traffic
Which websites or apps are used on the device
Your contacts, messages, photos, or files
Advertising IDs or any analytics or tracking data
To block the internet on both WiFi and mobile data, NetNap uses Android's VpnService to create a local VPN on the device. This VPN exists only on the device. It does not send your traffic to a VPN server, to us, or to anyone else. While blocking is on, network traffic from the device is stopped on the device, except for apps you choose to always allow. NetNap does not log, store, or transmit your network traffic or browsing history. Android asks for your permission before the VPN starts and shows a key icon while it is active. You can stop blocking at any time by entering your parent PIN.
VPN service: blocks internet access locally, as described above.
Device administrator: prevents NetNap from being uninstalled without your PIN. NetNap does not use this permission to read data, lock or wipe the device, or change other settings.
Foreground service and notifications: keep blocking running reliably and show an ongoing notification while it is active.
Start at boot: restarts blocking after the device restarts.
Battery optimization exemption: stops Android from shutting NetNap down in the background.
Alarms: start and stop blocking at the times you set in your schedules.
List of installed apps: shows the apps on the device so you can choose which ones to always allow. This list is used only on the device and is never sent anywhere.
TapOffline is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment information. Google's own terms and privacy policy apply to the purchase.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information. NetNap contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking services. Google Play may collect technical information, such as crash reports, under Google's privacy policy and your device settings. That is outside NetNap's control.
TapOffline is a tool for parents, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Because NetNap does not collect or store your personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct, delete, or export. Everything NetNap saves is on your own device, and you can remove it at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its data. If you email us, we use your email address only to reply and delete it when it is no longer needed. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law.
Your PIN and recovery code are saved as salted hashes and protected with Android's built-in security features. Nothing is sent over the network. Because we do not hold your data, we cannot reset your PIN for you. Please keep your recovery code in a safe place.
We may update this policy from time to time. The new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. If we ever add a feature that collects data, we will update this policy and the Data safety section of our Google Play listing before that feature is released.
If you have questions about this policy, email [your-email@example.com] or write to [Developer name], [City, Country].
