Established in 1991, NETLAB, the largest network research group on computer networks in Turkey, has successfully merged the experience and energy of faculty members at all levels to create the synergy required to enhance network research. NETLAB's purpose is to conduct research on computer networks, network security, parallel and distributed computing, wireless and mobile networks, SDN/NFV, multitier edge cloud systems, machine learning for networks and networks for AI, molecular communications and nano networks.

NETLAB is mainly funded by the Bogaziçi University Research Fund, State Planning Organization (DPT), industrial projects and the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and the European Union Research Funds.
