Netgear Nighthawk Genie Download

You refer to the genie. This could be one of several things, the browser interface, a Windows or Mac program for a PC, or a mobile Android/iThing app. Netgear labels them all as genies. Which are you using?

The genie is a valuable addition to the toolkit that does things that are more complicated, or even impossible, with the browser graphical user interface (GUI). (Try creating a "map" of your powerline devices in the GUI.) It is a shame that Netgear tries to force us all to use its hopeless mobile apps.

So I click on "Use These DNS Servers" and then change the Primary IP to 198.168.0.33 (which is my RPi's ip). I have the pi connected to the router/modem by ethernet, too. However, after hitting apply, it says:

I purchased a Netgear Nighthawk Ac1900 D7000 modem/router to replace the supplied Talk Talk modem router, I tried connecting and using the netgear genie I got to the user name and password stage and Talk Talk told me they use automated network authentication and to leave blank but the genie won't let me enter this way. Can anyone help? I tick enable Talk Talk Tv and tick VLANID (101) but I am stuck and can't get further...
