Set in a fictional country called Daeho, the series is about the love and growth of young mages as they overcome their twisted fates due to a forbidden magic spell known as the "alchemy of souls", which allows souls to switch bodies.[11][18][19]

Appropriately enough, summarizing Alchemy of Souls would take hours. The simplest description: a group of mages in the fictionalized land of Daeho (based on historical Korean aesthetics but not tied to a specific time period) protects the universe from a dark magic known as the alchemy of souls. The process involves switching souls from one body to another, often by force and for reasons of greed, power, or eternal life (or all three). Daeho's mage institution of Songrim exists to train students in ethical magical practices and eradicate soul shifters. A shifter who has "run wild" must constantly feed on others' souls to survive and poses an obvious risk to innocent human life. Otherwise, Daeho is mythically ripe with ancient practices, artifacts, legends, legacies, conspiracies, and secrets enough to whet any appetite, ranging from as traditional as a secret royal heir to as epic as a firebird.

Naksu dying in the end and maybe Jang Uk too seems like a feasible ending. It is true that Naksu had a bitter and painful past; however, the moment she chose to let her anger and rage took over her senses and in a way lead harm to some innocent people, she has become a criminal. Yes she was used by Jin Mu, but she actively participated in his plans wherein lives of young people were lost (I believe innocent ones). Those lives that were taken from performing alchemy of souls to shift the souls of old mages to younger bodies. Also, from the moment Jang Uk hid the truth about Mudeok being Naksu, he was aiding and abetting a criminal. Again, when innocent lives are lost in your quest for revenge, you have become a perpetrator in a way. So I guess, Naksu, prolly Jang Uk too, has to receive some kind of punishments. Death by doing good? Possibly. Any plot is welcome, as long as it will absolve all of the wrongs that they have done and that they can finally be remembered as saviours, not an assassin or a product of alchemy of souls. In saying that, I hope Jin Mu will meet an excruciating ending befitting to an evilest antagonist. ff782bc1db
