Facebook Live is a feature of Facebook that lets users livestream directly to the social network platform. Viewers can react, share, and comment during the stream. A recording of the video is also published to the page or profile so it can be watched again later.

Facebook Live started as a mobile-only broadcasting feature, but now, Facebook Pages can broadcast from either mobile devices or desktop computers. We'll go over how to broadcast from mobile and desktop devices in the sections below.

How To Download Livestream Video From Facebook

You go live from a web browser using Live Producer, where you have the option to stream live with your computer's built-in camera, or use an external camera and streaming software (also called an encoder). ;

These moments are what make live video special, and they're exactly what differentiates it from scripted, edited, or otherwise pre-recorded videos. Embrace the platform. Banter is always, always good.

But when people are watching a video, they may be more distracted from Liking and sharing it than they would a text or photo post. (That's something the folks at Facebook noticed about video content early on, which is why they began monitoring other video engagement signals as well, like turning on the volume.)

If you stick to the tips in this guide, you can take your Facebook Live streams to the next level. Live streaming to Facebook and other social media platforms is easier with Restream. You can multistream, go live straight from your browser, easily add guests and much more.

Take your livestream to the next level with graphics, screen-sharing and more. You can also incorporate streaming software like Streamlabs OBS. (For more information about connecting streaming software, click here.)

Captions are the easiest way to increase your video reach. With them, you can reach your Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences and people whose language differs from yours. Plus, many hearing folks who speak your language will still watch your video with the sound off.

Take a cue from the National Guide Dogs Australia (cue hearts melting), who hosted a live puppy stream on National Puppy Day. Think Golden Retriever puppies, a massive ball pit, and nonstop audience engagement.

There are two ways to simulcast your event from Vimeo to Facebook. With both methods, you will need to be able to log into the Facebook account that is either the owner or administrator of the desired profile or page.

Zoom, for instance, has the ability to stream your webinar or meeting live on Facebook to your personal timeline, a group, or a page that you are an admin for. This allows your community to join via Zoom or as viewers to watch and comment on Facebook Live. (See this example from a TechSoup Talk using Zoom for a Facebook Live broadcast.)

Yeah it appears to be a total crap shoot it. I've got 59, I've got the FB app installed. I've restarted many times. No way to livestream to FB. It's kinda infuriating cause there's no way to tell if it's bug, or just a rollout thing but it's been "rolling out" for like 4+ months so that seems like it's not it. Honestly totally unprofessional deployment of a feature.

You should be able to select a Page to stream to by tapping on your facebook profile picture in the settings shown before starting the live stream

it only works for pages that are linked to your FB account of course

Facebook live requires rtmps internally so Litchi already supports that. You should not have to enter url/key manually for facebook live, which version of Litchi are you using? Some FB live bugs were fixed in latest beta for iOS and latest android version.

It works fine for me to stream to a FB page, I tested with Litchi 4.21.0 beta, mini 2/air 2s and samsung tab s5e (android 11)

Please check your FB settings - Business integrations, make sure that you have given all permissions to Litchi. You could also try to delete the Litchi integration in your FB settings to reset it.

Also check to make sure you have the latest facebook app installed on your android device.

If you are using OBS or similar software to connect to Facebook Live, you are probably familiar with using Facebook Live Producer. One of the benefits of using Facebook Live Producer to manage your livestream is that you can get the embed code before you go live. This allows you to update your website without waiting for the stream to start.

While the above 2 methods work great, this is a manual process that you will have to do every time you start a new livestream. However, if your church is one of the 455 million websites that is built on WordPress, there is a plugin that can automate this entire process for you. WP Livestream is a WordPress plugin that automatically embeds your livestream on your website. It allows you to customize what is shown to your visitors when you are offline and can also alert them when you go live with site-wide notifications. Click here to learn more and say goodbye to manually copying/pasting embed codes every week!

I spent hours and hours over several weeks reading articles and watching Youtube videos trying to find the answer to this question: Why can't I livestream on Facebook in landscape with my iPhone SE? Occasionally, my phone would livestream in landscape but it was hit and miss and I could never figure out what I had done differently to make it happen. As it turns out, all the answers on videos, in articles and on helplines didn't include the simple fact that to livestream in Facebook in landscape on an iPhone SE you apparently need to: 1) open Facebook holding your phone in portrait position (vertically), 2) tap on the "Live" button while phone is held in portrait position, 3) then turn the phone to landscape position (horizontally), 4) then tap the video camera symbol you see on the right side of your phone screen. Everything I read/watched before I figured this sequence of turns out made a big deal about starting the livestream in landscape mode and setting certain settings one way or another (unlock portrait mode, choose "standard" in "View" under "Display and Brightness" in Settings) but I never came across anything that gave the sequence of turns of the phone and taps I've listed above. Hope this helps someone!

Every so often at Radio.co we livestream to Facebook and YouTube for talks on everything radio related. A big question we get asked often is how we go about broadcasting these live events. So we thought we would walk you through what we use and how we set everything up to connect with viewers on both Facebook Live and YouTube Live.

At Radio.co we're based next to a busy high street, so we need a lot of soundproofing so mics don't pickup outside noises. We use a specialised soundproof curtain that blocks out a lot of noise from the main road.

This handles the video input for both of the two cameras we use and the input from our mixer. What the Blackmagic box does is it allows you to manage two cameras at once. You might not necessarily need something like this if you just use one camera. The likelihood is you can just plug a one camera setup straight into your computer with an adaptor cable. This setup works well for us because we're going to be using two cameras and syncing up the audio from the mixer to the cameras.

At the back of the Blackmagic box we use one HDMI cable coming in from one of the cameras. We've also got an SDI cable. As we don't have another SDI camera, what we've done is use a HDMI to SDI converter.

If you plan on broadcasting just a simple interview then we recommend having at least two cameras as it adds a layer of professionalism. However, if you're broadcasting a quick live DJ set then you could achieve similar results with a web camera and output from your mixer.
