It's a Small World Baby Mobile

Dear friends, who are travel and Disney fanatics were expecting their first child - I jumped at the chance to help decorate the nursery with a mobile on the theme of It's a Small World.
To prepare, I watched many Disney ride videos going through the ride to identify the most iconic figures.
I ended up making a 6-arm mobile with 6 child ornaments, 6 scenery ornaments, and 3 felt balls to add dimension.
I based my designs for the children off the 45th anniversary desktop background art by Disney artist Jeff Maurer from the Disney Parks Blog, as well as various album art.
I loosely took patterns for shapes from the poster, then hand-drew the different layers for each color. I made a first attempt at embroidery to add details to each child, using some beads and sequins for sparkle.
Through my video tours and available Disney ornaments, I identified a set of scenery items I wanted to include:
Blinking sun
Windmill
Moon
Sphinx
Hello/Goodbye flower
Hot air balloon
