I really liked the nessus parser from 2017 that was perl based I believe. It worked. But, it is challenging to keep up with it because I feel like it took a dedicated amount of time to get the reports all converted. And I would have to hope and pray that my Linux VM didn't bite the dust in between somehow and I'd have to set it up all over again. Some of the files are very large. And the problem where we track and are accountable for remediation remains. (I say we, but I mean me. It's just me.)

Has anyone used this tool and would be willing to help with templates? Any pre built ones that you can share? Any other suggestions? I know this is the hard part of vulnerability management and I got to this subreddit by googling "how do I parse nessus junk" so I imagine you hear this a lot.

I ran into this recently, thinking that they had renamed the location from nessusagent to nessus. Turns out that wasn't correct. There appears to be two separate but similarly named sets of files. One is for Nessus Agent and the other is for what seems like a clustered or cloud based management console.

I didn't realize that until pushing the update out to everyone and finding out all our agents stopped checking in. Then I ran the nessuscli -h in terminal and realized the options were completely different and the agent link option was no longer there.

We have Nessus installed on one of our servers and the scans are being manged through the web client.

I was wondering what's the procedure of migrating it to another server if anybody knows?

I found 2 large folders called "conf" and "nessus" under programdata\tenable\nessus

You should be able to log into Nessus with your oldusername and passwords If you get a corrupt global.db error. Stop the nessusdservice, and re-copy global.db from your backup. Start Nessusd and it should beback to normal.

My fix was : rm -r /opt/nessus/var/nessus/www/, then reinstall nessus : maybe it's useless... (makepkg -si) and then sudo systemctl restart nessusd. => Maybe there is something in pkg to fix to overwrite /opt/nessus/var/nessus/www/ (such as deleting "www" ?) or just print the "maybe you sould delete www so that nessus creates it again ?)

To see the scan policies that are available on the server, we issue the nessus_policy_list command. If there are not any policies available, this means that you will need to connect to the Nessus GUI and create one before being able to use it.

When Nessus completes the scan, it generates a report for us with the results. To view the list of available reports, we run the nessus_report_list command. To import a report, we run nessus_report_get followed by the report ID.

I don't know what's the hot fuzz about nessus. I use nessus in a vm-image (kali) to scan my own network (win 8).. for this reason it's okay I guess. It's a free version so with the feeds.. For the commercial I wouldn't pay

Can I ask is this something I need to worry about?, will it be addressed in a future Eset Protect update?

It looks like a similar query was raised here back in September

Although I don't think an update to Apache Proxy has been rolled out as part of the latest Eset Protect Version 9 2351a5e196
