Abstract Submission

Conference attendees are invited to contribute talks to three sessions at this spring's meeting. Information on each session is below.

Teaching Hour

The "Teaching Hour" session will be held on Saturday June 5, beginning at 4:00 PM. The teaching hour is a chance for you to tell us about something exciting that you are doing in the classroom or a new pedagogical technique you are using. There is so much that we can learn from one another, so please share! We welcome talks on classroom activities, innovative lessons, projects, new courses, assessments, grading schemes, etc., pretty much anything related to teaching. In particular, we'd like to hear talks that reflect on this past year, both in terms of things that went well (or poorly) and what you plan to carry forward into future semesters. Faculty, graduate students, and others may contribute 15-minute presentations.

Undergraduate Student Presentations

The Undergraduate Student Presentations session will be held on Saturday June 5, beginning at 1:30 PM, running in parallel to the general Contributed Paper Session. Undergraduate students from the Northeastern Section are invited to present talks at the meeting on topics in mathematics, statistics, or computer science. The presentations should be 15 minutes or less in length, on expository work, research projects, employment experiences, or problems from mathematical periodicals.

Contributed Papers

The Contributed Papers session will be held on Saturday June 5, beginning at 1:30 PM, running in parallel to the Undergraduate Student Paper Session. Faculty, graduate students, and others may contribute 15-minute presentations for this session. We are particularly interested in papers which will appeal to a variety of participants. If you are planning to speak about results of your research, keep in mind that the audience most likely will not be familiar with your specialty, so you will want to give some motivation and context for your work.

The deadline for abstract submissions is Friday, May 28th. To submit an abstract, please fill out your information at the appropriate submission form below (each link opens in another tab).
