• Professor Hyungcheoul Shim has been appointed as an assistant professor in the school of materials science and semiconductor engineering at the university of ulsan, effective March 1 !

• The NESC Lab was officially launched with an information session held on May 14, 2025 

• Undergraduate research students Minkyu Kim, Seojin Kim, Yunju Kang, and Minkyoung Yang advanced to the finals of the KIAT STOB League under the team name SIMSDOTR (Smart Innovation in Materials & Structures for Design and Optimization of Technology in Rechargeables), where they presented on bilayer-structured electrodes. (November 2025)

• A team including undergraduate research students Hyeokjin Kim visited KAR Company as part of the RISE Project, completing the "Prospective Employer Exploration Challenge" program and won the Grand Prize. (November 2025)

• A team including undergraduate research students Minkyu Kim, Gyeongdae Bae, Jinhyuk Lee, and Seojin Kim won the Grand Prize in the U-Create Program for their work on an LFP current collector gradient bilayer structure. (December 2025)

• A team including studentHyeokjin Kim completed a KIST Visit Program and received the Excellence Award (Top Prize). (February 2026)

• Undergraduate research students Hoyeon Yu and Hyeonmin Cho graduated and enrolled as Master's students in the NESC Lab. (March 2026)
