Nervous Climate is an interactive installation project currently in development. Drawing on community input and our own fears and hopes around climate change, this installation seeks to embody a human mind trying to process climate change from fear and hope to action.
The first phase of development will take place as part of Royal MTC's Bridge Festival. At online sessions, members of the community are invited to share their thoughts and feelings about climate change with us in guided idea jam sessions, and/or participate in a group collaging session based on prompts from the idea jams. These contributions will be used (with permission) in the installation as visual display and to create a soundscape for the installation, and also inspire further visual collages as the project develops.
In the final installation, audiences will be invited to walk a labyrinth path through the full audio-visual collage on their journey through the mind culminating in an opportunity to write a postcard to elected officials sharing their personal views and calls for action Members of Parliament and others who have the power to effect policy.

Our community Idea Jams are over for now - stay tuned for summer and fall 2022! In the meantime, you can participate with the same writing prompts we explored at the Jams. Do as much or as little as you like - we'd love to see what you come up with!
We also encourage you to check out more of the awesome programming for The Bridge: Our Only Earth - online or in-person. Find out more about The Bridge here.
