The Senate Majority Leader wasted no time and hurried around the country to coordinate preparation with the figure who can make a difference. Some examples are:

Finding the Hurricane Warning Center's (HWC) reports cumbersome and not easily accessible for the majority of Dixians, Senator Prelate decided to make his own map! He widely published it to draw further attention to the danger Dixie was in, while once more offering warnings:
- Explaining the position and strength of the storm, while telling the story of how it gained in strength before hitting Mexico and could do the same
- Pleading with Dixians to not be cavalier and to protect themselves
- Publishing regular updates as Nerva got closer and closer to Dixie
